Build the Polish Monthly Business Activity Report (GUS DG-1)
Skill: Convert monthly turnover and activity data into the GUS DG-1 statistical report
Region: Poland (Polska) Category: Government / statistics — GUS (statystyka publiczna) Does: Takes monthly operating data — revenues/turnover, output, employment, new orders, investment, prices — and assembles the DG-1 report ("Meldunek o działalności gospodarczej"), submitted electronically through the GUS Portal Sprawozdawczy by enterprises selected into the survey. Spec: Główny Urząd Statystyczny (GUS) — DG-1 statistical form (current edition; activity classified under PKD 2025)
DG-1 is GUS's core monthly short-term business statistics return. It captures turnover/revenue, value of production (sold output), employment and the average wage, new orders (for selected sections), and selected price/investment items, all keyed to the unit's PKD activity. From 2025 the activity classification is PKD 2025. Field names below follow the form sections, not a verbatim XSD.
When this applies
- Enterprises selected by GUS into the DG-1 survey (notified via the Portal Sprawozdawczy) — typically larger units across industry, construction, trade and services.
- Filed monthly, electronically via the Portal Sprawozdawczy, by the GUS deadline (early in the following month; the per-survey deadline is shown in the portal).
Structure (FORM → REPORT)
Header unit: REGON, name; reporting month/year; predominant PKD 2025 code
Dział 1 Revenues / turnover (przychody) from total activity and from sales of products/goods
Dział 2 Sold production of industry / output value (where the unit is in production sections)
Dział 3 Employment: average paid employment (przeciętne zatrudnienie) and headcount;
payroll (wynagrodzenia) for the month
Dział 4 New orders (nowe zamówienia) — selected industrial sections
Dział 5 Selected items: exports, investment outlays, inventories, selected prices
Data rules
- Predominant PKD 2025 code determines which divisions/sections of the form must be completed; report data for the whole enterprise (all local units) unless instructed otherwise.
- Amounts in thousands of złoty (tys. zł) per the form's units, on an accrual/turnover basis consistent with accounting; rounding to the form's precision.
- Employment as average paid employment for the month plus payroll; headcount at period boundaries where requested.
- Consistency — revenue/output should be reconcilable across months and with annual GUS returns (e.g. SP, F-01); large month-on-month swings should be explainable.
- Report zeros explicitly for applicable but nil items; leave non-applicable sections blank per the PKD-driven routing.
Worked example (outline)
DG-1 — REGON 012345678, month 2025-05, PKD 2025 = 25.62.Z (machining)
Dział 1: total revenue 4,200 (tys. zł); from products 3,900
Dział 2: sold industrial output 3,850 (tys. zł)
Dział 3: average paid employment 58; monthly payroll 480 (tys. zł)
Dział 4: new orders 4,050 (tys. zł)
Submitted electronically via the GUS Portal Sprawozdawczy; figures reconcile across months and with the annual statistical returns.

- Employment (average paid) and payroll consistent with HR/payroll records
- Month-on-month and cross-return consistency (SP / F-01); nil items reported as zero
- Submitted via the Portal Sprawozdawczy by the deadline
